So a few weeks ago, I posted about how my best friend’s son, a 19 year old college sophomore, appeared to be turning into a Trump-idolizing Young Republican.

Welp, looks like his journey to the Dark Side is 100%. This post popped up on my feed tonight:

I would imagine him being 19 and on the internet, I’ll be getting a response. Mine is going to be

“I’ve known you since you were a toddler and wish you nothing but the best. It’s up to you to decide what you want to do with your life, but I’m telling you now: this is a dark, dark road you’re going down. Be conservative all you want, but for God’s sake, make it rooted in reality.”

The corker is the kid is studying rhetoric and social media, and this is his model of reality and critical thinking.

I’m just so upset by all of this. He’s a 19 year old deciding that he wants the political and amoral views of a 60 year old modern day Republican. This shit is why I roll my eyes everything I hear how Gen Z, or whatever the group following the Millennials is called, is going to outright reject and bury the GOP.

Trump is literally the only President they’ve been aware of. They think this shit is normal. And that, above all else, is what scares me.
