re: #260 makeitstop
My sympathies. We have three cats here, and one of them is advancing quickly into old age.
For as much amusement and companionship as they give, I’m always nagged by a vague sense of heartbreak, knowing that their time with us is bound to be too short, regardless of how long they live.
The first was the hardest to let go. She lived to 18. The second to 19 or 20. Kidney failure, both, which is common.
We have 1 outside kitty that I can’t bring in because she’d fight with my alpha male. I’m mostly afraid she’ll get hit by a car, but when we got her, we had 6 in the house already and that was too many so we hope for the best.
Anyway, yes, they’re a blessing when you have them, is true.
