Yeah it’s the obsession with looking at civil rights history with party labels and not nuances. The sad story though is if the Civil Rights movement was around now, I don’t think as many Republicans would have embraced it as they did in the 50’s and 60’s. That party’s pandered to a base that are the descendants of the people who were furious at integration.
