That’s right, he did. I mean I’m glad these people are capable of so called Come to Jesus moments but I really really wish they’d think about others first. I’m not black, I’m not LGBT, I’m not Muslim but I place myself in minority’s shoes when I evaluating the world around me. I know damn well if I hadn’t been born to a well to do family, I would have had the educational resources I did as a person on the autistic spectrum. And that’s what I want for others. I want them to have the same chances I had. And I want racial minorities to be assumed innocent the way I am too ad not judged because of the clotes they wear or music they listen to.

Many conservatives seem to lack empathy for others who are not like them. They may profess to be religious, but in practice they only help the fellows who are part of their own social group. Everyone else is a non-entity.

The situation changes when one of these conservatives is personally affected by injustice. Often, they swing 180 degrees away from their previous apathetic attitudes and become (dare I say it) social justice warriors.
