to think that walter cronkite only ‘read’ the news and wasnt a part of writing/shaping it before the newcast is, well, awfully simplistic and silly thinking.

For what it’s worth, a few people on the original post pointed out that Reagan’s gutting of the Fairness Doctrine set us on this path. A quick spot check of the people who had open pages did reveal the usual conservatives being clueless about what they were whining about.
