No, they don’t understand him at all. Do you really think Trump is understands why Putin in his own words finds the fall of the USSR to be a great geopolitical strategy? Trump just sees a strongman and thinks that’s what a leader should be. Trump may understand manipulation but he doesn’t understand Russian geopolitics for a second. Do not give him credit that he doesn’t deserve.
