Interesting. Another highly complex issue that trump can’t understand, can’t defend, can’t explain.

School is daycare for the kiddies and parents who can’t work from home are desperate. But trump is too stupid, simplistic and incapable of using this to his advantage.

You can already see elite opinion on here changing to “of course we can’t open schools during a pandemic!!” And since nobody had terribly strong priors—and since the general public doesn’t trust Trump on this stuff either—that’ll probably filter into broader public opinion.
