I’m struggling to comprehend the enormousness of the implications here, in the historical sense. Like, you can read about Julius and Ethel Rosenberg in some American history textbooks, notably those from the Cold War and immediate post-Cold War era, like I grew up with; can you imagine the narrative that will be painted around Trump, his presidency, and this whole kerfuffle? Forget Benedict Arnold, here we have a FORMER FUCKING PRESIDENT willing to sell our most sensitive secrets for nothing more than petty cash so he can afford to get sued for being a criminal. And the worst part is that an entire fucking political party is STILL swimming toward that sinking ship, and people will STILL vote for them.
