I worked for Mark Udall (who lost to Gardner) and Udall ran a horrible campaign. I did a lot of canvassing that year… it was a crazy year here in CO. As who will run against him - I’d say Hickenlooper if he didn’t want to foolishly run for President (as I’ve heard whispered). I really can’t think of any big names to run against Gardner but CO has a ton more people (and much more liberal people) than we did even a few years ago. Just by aggregate of people Gardner should in theory have a hard re-election year.

Heh, I have heard Hickenlooper mentioned as VP candidate for Ohio Johnny Kasich’s bipartisan third party dream presidential ticket.

Kasich joked it might not work though as Hickenlooper is too long a name to fit on posters and bumper stickers.
