Something interesting about the American-Iranian-Council:
Some weeks ago, Charles and I had a dispute about Obamas decision to cut the aid for Iranian Opposition groups (most of this support was established by Bush).
While I critizised this decision (like several Republicans did, including John McCain), Charles pointed out that the AIC actually supported Obamas decision, which I countered, saying that the AIC is not an opposition-group.

Well, here’s something I overlooked: See the Leadership of the AIC here. The first person mentioned under “Board of Directors” is Hooshang Amirahmadi Ph.D. Professor, Rutgers University, Founder and President, AIC.

Here is his official website.
And here you can see a nice picture of Mr. Amirahmadi together with one of his friends (you might know him). (See also this text about AICs support for the Mullahregime).

Conclusion: If anyone tells you, that Obamas decision to cut the aid for Iranian opposition groups was a good deal, because the AIC supported this, be skeptical.
