re: #263 reine.de.tout

Heh. Before the recession, I thought my CEO was lousy. He just was uninspired, seemed bored all the time.

Then the recession hit, and he was jumping around like a madman, and managed to keep the company afloat through difficult times. Lots of people were let go, but everyone got let go on the first of the month (for the health insurance coverage), they gave one months’ notice and two months’ severance, and they announced they would not contest unemployment for anyone. The executive team took a salary freeze and no bonuses, too. He rented out some unused space we weren’t using, and translated that directly into keeping some people employed. He was great in the crisis.

I wish they could keep two CEOs around, a crisis one and a visionary one, and switch ‘em off as needed.
