Since I’m sadly absent from the bottom comments list I’ll go ahead and say this…
I agree with the designation as a hate group. Hate groups are real and deserve to be called out as such. Just yesterday I called Mondoweiss a hate blog, the description fits.
The saddest element in this case is this guy seemed to be making a statement about chicken sandwiches. It almost got people killed over chicken sandwiches. Hate is one thing but the real problem comes from fear. Once people become convinced that elections are going to be stolen, theocracy installed, gays rounded up, then bad things happen. It’s insecurity and fear that drives this kind of action. Even here on LGF we had people postulating that chicken restaurants could be denied business licences because the politics of the owners could be dangerous to local communities. There is no danger from chicken sandwich sellers. There is no danger from the Klan. There is no danger from burning a flag or a quran. Once you start taking the attitude of showing no tolerance for the intolerant you become the latter, not the former.
All this over chicken sandwiches.
