We’d need more than simply a major attack. At this point we’d need a 9/11 attack that could be conclusively traced back to a Syrian refugee who came over in the last few months to begin to budge the numbers. We’ve had three bad terrorist attacks in the US since last June and none of them have moved Trump 5-6% in the polls, which is what he needs now to have a chance.

Nonetheless, chaos and misinformation still favor his cause, and given the nature of the US media and the level of political discourse here, that is a bit disquieting.
