Dude is dude. One of the English language’s great anomalies, like the word “ain’t.”

Nothing wrong with “ain’t”. It just means “am not”. There used to be “amn’t”, too.

Ain’t is just wrong for 2nd and 3rd person. But it took a lot of class-based bad grammarians to ruin ain’t in the 1st person.
