You know what’s interesting? All but the most vocal and racist of my pet wingnuts have fallen pretty much silent about the election. They are posting videos of dumb rednecks doing dumb things, family photos, etc, but not a word about politics. Perhaps they’ve developed a bit of, dare I say it, shame over what they helped create? One keeps asking if Gary Johnson is an alternative, but the responses have been non existent or subdued.
I think it’s hilarious. All the whining about how mean and hateful politics has become has ceased too.

Now, my husband’s idiot friends are another matter entirely. Some of these guys are so insanely racist that I wonder how many sets of robes and hoods they have at the cleaners. My husband keeps defending them, I keep telling him to face the fact that he’s thrown in with racist, sexist assholes that I don’t want around our son or in our home anymore. “But they weren’t always like this” . Um, no, they were, you’re just a white dude and blow off all but the most blatant shit as a “joke”. I told him to go back and check his old emails and Facebook notifications and get back to me. Yeah, I’m still waiting….The good thing about all of this is that the assholes are right out there in the open being loud and proud about it. Makes it really easy to sort out who you want to be around.
