re: #256 Belafon

Sean wouldn’t like my story: When I was a kid, we had to go on food stamps and free and reduced lunches. The elementary school I went to had so many poor kids that once every few months RIF (Reading is Fundamental) would come by giving out free books. But, I went on from there to be the first person in my family to graduate from college after going into the military (the state paid for my college because I was a veteran) and I have a high paying job (I make about 3 times what my parents did).

And the thing there are many Americans like you. Tom Perriello, the gubertorial candidate I work for has a great way of describing these programs, they’re investments. He made a great point about hihigher wages. Higher wages means people will go out to eat more, ttravel, and purchase more.
