That’s a bit fucking harsh, man, especially when you’re saying it to people who are supposedly friends (well, as much as people can be over the Internet).

However, I do agree that defeatist attitudes are counter-productive and tend to create self-fulfilling prophecies; staying optimistic, especially in the Age of Trump, is fucking hard, but we have to do it as best we can, or we lose much, much more than we have already to this point.
