They don’t. My mom worked with a few Puerto Ricans before she retired from the Feds and the Puerto Ricans told her that they got a lot of harassment from people who were totally oblivious to the fact that they’re Americans. By the way, we need to let them vote in our elections and have voting participation in our Congress. Ditto the people on Guam and the other territories.
