I sometimes wonder if Trump’s election wouldn’t have been so shocking if he replaced Bush instead of Obama and come to the conclusion that I would have been just as shocked (I spent election night texting variations of wtf to my friend).

Lincoln was between Buchanan and Johnson just like poor Obama got stuck between Dubya and Trump. I really think the purer than thou on the left had unrealistic expectations of Obama’s presidency.
