Walker should be excused from jury duty.

They didn’t excuse Rudy Guliani back when he was mayor of New york City, although that was even more odd given that Guliani is a lawyer.

Scott Walker likely did not want to be excused, as his Democratic opponents would use that to suggest that Walker thought himself above the common man. Walker does not wish to foster such thoughts and perhaps hopes to use his jury service to see how his fellow jurors see political matters. Heck, if he makes a good impression he might win over some jurors who would otherwise have voted against him in the fall.
