It was kind of a joke—yeah, the smokes were behind the counter here too, while the alcohol takes up two aisles. I just find it silly that CVS is so sanctimonious about supporting HEALTH by not selling cigarettes, but is fine with multiple aisles of alcohol.

No alcohol at NYC CVS.

And Duane Reade has gotten serious about carding for cigarettes — even though I’m older than the cashier’s mother, if I don’t have ID with me he won’t sell me the smokes.
