What’s interesting is this little nugget from the WaPo article:

He has told aides he was especially disturbed after learning Mueller would be able to access several years of his tax returns.

Trump’s scared - maybe for the first time in his life, he realizes he’s in truly deep shit and it’s not so easy this time to BS, bully, or sue his way out of it.

When all is said and done, it could well be that winning the Presidency was the single worst thing that ever happened to him. I know it’s been rumored that Melania was deeply unhappy that he was running - and presumably, even less happy that he won. Maybe she had an inkling as to how it could all possibly go sideways.
