This is what gets me every time.

I don’t particularly have a dog in this fight. Nancy can be Speaker or someone else can.

But the way the other party does this, if I am understanding it correctly, is that they have a Speaker or majority or minority leader who wants to be Speaker, and they more or less challenge each other or fight it out in some process that results in one of them keeping the Speakership or someone else taking it.

This demand for Nancy to step down, or not run, or whatever, seems almost like an attempt by the GOP or the media or whoever else to just sow chaos in the Dem House ranks should Nancy indeed step aside and no one, or no one barely qualified actually steps forward to replace her.
