Pretty much. The GOP is now on the defensive after their all-male birth control panel and after their caveman statements about contraception. It’s all playing out like a massive game of rope-a-dope. They’re coming across as sexist and retrograde about women, and it’s not doing any of the candidates any favors.

Some of my older friends are worried Obama made a mistake here…possibly, but I can’t see him losing the election over coverage of contraception.

What would kill his re-election is an economic catastrophe, which the GOP seems bound and determined to cause, especially if we hit another debate over the debt ceiling. Contraception won’t hurt him. If anything, it will help him with women and independents, especially if the GOP keeps acting like a bunch of Neanderthals on the issue.
