That’s the problem, there is no way to stop the collection other than to prevent it in the first place. which won’t matter, because, they’ll collect it anyway and tell us it’s for our own good.

Forgive me if I’m missing something, but are you suggesting a course of action or policy or a useful prescription or new way to do business, or are you merely expressing a lament?

I read all of that as “high-speed digital computers have been invented and networked”, and my response is “…Okay?”.

If you merely intend to lament, that’s fine. Laments are totally okay.
