Went to my first meeting of the Resistance last night — our local county Dems are trying to get organized in response to the upcoming crises. The original location had to be changed because it only held 80 people; we wound up with about 150, in a traditionally Republican suburb.

I don’t know how this will turn out, but it’s surely worth the effort. One of the initiatives is setting up smaller teams to research specific issues so we can spread the word to the larger group. Trying to give specific, focused talking points to contact our congress critters about (fed & state). I’m on the nascent “Environment” team, in the Public Lands subsection. So far, I’ve put together one quick document on the rule change that set the value of public lands as “budget-neutral” to make it easier to sell ‘em off.

Trying to think of suggestions for rally signs — “This land is OUR land” and maybe “Not for sale” posted over a picture of Rocky Mountain Natl Park.
