This should be our mantra. The Confederacy shouldn’t be an issue in 2017 because its symbols should never have been tolerated on public land in the first place. This country tolerates racism way too much on so many damn levels. I can’t imagine what it would be like to be born in this country and live with this anti-Black nonsense for my entire life.
