Not that I think it will help Trump at all (probably the opposite), but dumping Pence as VP nom would be just the sort of stunt that a failing reality-TV show would try -in desperation- to recover its plummeting ratings (and save itself from cancellation).
Dumb as all hell, of course: but then, this whole shitshow of an Administration has been a sort of reality-TV spectacle anyway (and its Chief Buffoon has long made it clear that “ratings” are his main priority). - so I wouldn’t discount their trying it.
