When I was in college, we designed a .50 cal mount that would pop up from the “clamshell” dual facing rear seat area of a station wagon. It was reviewed by the school ROTC commander, who said there was nothing illegal about it, so long as we didn’t have the gun.

Of course we never built it, but it was a fun project. Just one of those “now THIS would look neat on film when the bad guys are pursuing our hero and his gal” deals.

My part? Mediate the inevitable arguments, work out some of the gearing necessary, and keep the booze flowing.
