I had one of the moments today. I was on my way home from running errands when I saw a panhandler at a corner. I was all Grrrr that the light went red and I’d be stopped right next to him. He was mostly toothless, no shoes, dirty…. and then I felt like a total asshole. I’d just dropped $30 at the liquor store without blinking an eye. This guy is hungry. I can easily afford to give him $10. Still felt like an asshole, but at least he could eat tonight.
