As much as I’ve called them the American Taliban and similar, the reality is that these are right wing Christofascists. They are Christian extremists. There’s no sense or purpose dragging other religious groups into this when identifying them explicitly as the religious group they are serves the purpose properly.

I’ve been sticking with Christian Extremist for a while now. American Taliban is too dismissive and easily ignored as a meaningless jab. Calling them Christian extremists hits home because so many people like to consider themselves Christian because they think it’s publicly acceptable.
