I work in an Assisted Living facility in south Texas and have very much kept my views to myself. This morning a resident came into my office (there were already 2 other supervisors in my office) and asked who we were voting for. The resident (86, female), and both supervisors (male, late30s-early 40s, non-college educated) are all voting for Trump, and when I said, “I’m with her,” there was an audible gasp. The resident told me we can’t afford 8 more years like the last 8 because “we are almost completely broken.” When I brought up the unemployment rate, none of them believed it, when I mentioned the number of uninsured we have now compared to before Obamacare, the resident told me that before Obamacare insurance premiums did NOT go up.

In short, I found that I was correct to keep my facts and views to myself at work.
