It all revolves around the toxicity of the WORDS ‘racist’ and ‘racism’.

The Right is tired of being called racist and being told society is racist so they react with stupid shit like ‘Blacks are the REAL racists!’ or ‘There’s nobody as discriminated against as a white Christian male!’, and then they elect a guy who’s overtly racist but hasn’t been caught yet using the N-word.

The Left is so convinced that their own shit don’t stink that they simply can’t believe that anything they do isn’t ‘colorblind’, because they’re ALL ‘the least racist person you’ll ever meet’.

NEITHER side wants to 1) listen to POCs about THEIR experiences, or 2) look inside and acknowledge their unconscious racism, and so maybe start to address it.

The far left sees identity politics as being a distraction & directly antithetical to their realpolitik by turning off white racist voters who they think would otherwise be amenable to their socialist platform. The only difference between them and the right is how much effort the put into overtly legitimizing (versus covertly condoning) the racism of the white voters they’re courting.
