What I find telling is the people who knew Trump the most i.e. New Yorkers especially people in NYC rejected him overwhelmingly. That to me really says something and that people who only really knew him as “that success business guy on the Apprentice” embraced him the most.

That’s not an excuse. Even with fawning coverage from all corners of the US media, who and what Trump is was always obvious. Forget scandals - the man’s public behaviour was frankly disgusting. It’s impossible to not know the character of the man. Those who support him either know that he’s terrible, but hate Democrats more because they’ve been brainwashed, or are so foul themselves that they like that he’s a liar and a bully with no thought for anyone but themselves.

The Trumpers who proudly stand tall and crow about hating Jews and blacks and gays and libtards and fuck your feelings are one thing. They are evil people. The end. But we all have been disappointed and appalled at those people we know who are decent in many ways, who care about their family and friends and who have so many redeeming qualities, yet are Trumpers. It is those people that have basically ended my faith in the American electorate. I ask those people, here is a man who you would not allow in your house. If he knew your children, you would warn them against him. If he came to your party and behaved this way, you’d ask him to leave. What possessed you to think this was acceptable in a leader?
