I’ve been checking around to see if anyone reputable has written about what a hypothetical banking collapse would look like in the modern world. The only thing I find is stuff from the Great Depression, which was pretty bad. I have yet to have anyone tell me what it would be like if we lost 50% of our financial structure. I’d guess a good run on banks would take out 70-80% but I’m just guessing.

Saving the banks is a bummer but I don;t see any other reasonable way around it. What we should be more concerned with is how to ensure that this doesn’t happen again.
