You also conflate micro and macro economics in your post, you can’t just “size up” economics.

If you want to shop at a different store because the old one has raised the prices, then you have to cross the street, if you want to move to a different state due to higher taxes you have to move your entire family.

Are there really people so petty they would move their entire family, and be forced to find a new job/new place to work from, just to pay a few dollars less in taxes?

Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face…

Maybe not individual families, but the businesses they work for might decide that say California is not a good place to locate their business due to tax policies.
