What is this thing about getting a SWAT team sent to somebody’s house? WTF was that about?

If I understand it correctly, it works like this: you use Skype or some other VoIP service to call police and impersonate some poor chap, claiming that you shot “your wife” or something like that, and giving that chap’s address. Under normal circumstances these VoIP calls are untraceable (they probably are, in principle, but one would need some spiffy court orders for that, and even then proxies might have been used, etc.).

Basically that’s a prank call (tech-wise, not results-wise) taken to the next level.
