I’m sorry, I’m not seeing it. It looks like the voting map correctly assigns them blue— democratic votes— and the gun violence one assigns them red— high incidence of gun violence.

However, they got the colors inverted on the gun violence section of it, like idiots.

I think the “gun violence” map is just the same as the voting map, and they faded the colors on the “voting map” to make them look different.
