They also make the distinction in defense of the electoral college, now that GOP presidential candidates are routinely losing the popular vote in presidential elections. But the moment a GOP candidate wins the popular vote and loses the EC, let’s see how principled their defense of the EC, and their preference for a republic over a democracy, is.
