We should. Just like we should remind our other allies that jailing homosexuals is wrong and there should be a price to pay for it. People are born with certain fundamental rights and we should remind the world, and our own countrymen, of that on a daily basis. I don’t see that as arrogant, I see that as sticking up for the individual.

The thing is, I believe they stick up for the individual better than we do. :) I believe we stick up for ideas better, they stick up for people better. if you’re as willing to accept their criticism of us as quickly as you’re willing to criticize them, then I have no problem!
