Good, and stored guns should be secured so that children cannot gain access to them. The Eddie the Eagle program is intended as a second line of defense, one placed in the child’s mind, if they come across a gun that has not been properly secured.
Of course, the even-more-extreme-than-NRA “Gun Owners of America”, not only opposed gun lock laws, they oppose the use of gun locks period. Their “reasoning: being that you need to have immediate access to your loaded, unlocked weapon 24/7 because you may only have a few seconds to react if your home is invaded by Gay-ISIS-thug-ACORN-commies in the middle of the night.
