re: #275 HappyWarrior
I said it earlier but Iām really of two minds about how he should handle Garlandās confirmation if the Republicans suddenly become willing to give him a chance. One part of me wants to give Garland that chance since he deserved a hearing but if Garland understands, Iām also okay with Obama telling the Senate GOP in no certain terms āYou said that it was up to the next president, well the Democrats control the Senate now and Hillary will be picking Scaliaās replacement who I assure you will not be as centrist as Judge Garland would have been. In other words, enjoy having the ultra conservative Scalia replaced by someone more like Kagan, RBG, Sotomayor, and Breyer.
This will be a much more persuasive message if the Democrats can win a Senate majority tomorrow. Either approve Garland on the quickfast or we shut down the filibuster for judicial appointments, and maybe for everything, in January and get the Justice of our dreams.
