GMA was interviewing the guy who chased the shooter after he left the church. He stated that he never shot at the shooter, he just kept giving information to 911 about their location.

The guy that shot at the bad guy jumped into that guy’s vehicle (truck?) and they went chasing after him. They stayed behind the vehicle and kept him in sight until the police got there after the guy crashed off the road. The guy with the gun still had the gun, but apparently was smart enough to just stay back and watch the vehicle and not try to play cop.
