Reparations are not just about slavery as mentioned above.

As for those student loan decisions, I was lucky to graduate without debt with the aid of Social Security, BEOG funding and cheap in-state tuition. Part-time student jobs dishwashing or working in the library helped cover the rest.

University tuition has increased at a rate of something like 300% over inflation, there is something wrong with that. I would support a plan to forgive some or all outstanding debt.

tuitions have increased partially for the same reason medical costs have increased partially

because they payment mechanism has been decoupled from the original purchase decision and with it the evaluation of its value.

also why people buy more house or car than they need - it’s only $X a month
