It’s only odd if you’re one of the assholes who thinks in terms of party warfare, instead of what’s good for the country.

Me, I think it’s really unhealthy for a democracy to only have one viable party. Me, I don’t like having one party in charge of all branches of gov’t— no matter who that party is.

You apparently see nothing wrong with that. You apparently think that Sun Tzu was writing about democracy.
