Outside of a declared war, I don’t think you can gun down a bunch of people without being mentally ill. He went beyond that and prayed with them for an hour first. I’m not religious, but even to me, that’s totally insane.

Extremist ideologies will do that. One could argue it’s a form of a mental illness, of course…

He may be mentally ill, but this is often said to deny he’s a white supremacist terrorist. And yet those are not incompatible.
