It’s also a good reminder that the chief GOP nut seeking a government shutdown was none other than Ted Cruz. An economic illiterate whose intention is to blow up the government. Shut down government, make it so unworkable - sabotaging all it does, that you have to pare back government spending to nothing. His tax plan calls for massive redistribution of wealth to the rich (they get most of the tax breaks), and the burdens shifted to everyone else - those least able to afford it.

And for all the talk about how the IRC is complex and he wants to get rid of the IRS, he’s proposing a VAT that would be just as complex and require an entirely new agency to handle those returns.

Cruz’s tax policy is bugnuts, but only in matter of degree considering that Trump’s plan would be even more damaging with massive deficits as far as anyone can see.
