Repeat this to anyone who waxes nostalgic or indirectly defensive of slavery or has problems about being reminded of the history and heritage of slaveholding:

Those people were brought to America because the white settlers were TOO LAZY to do the hard work of growing tobacco, sugar or cotton.

Local natives would just run off to friendly tribes so they had to import people from another continent who were helpless and isolated.

Slave owners were not too lazy to whip and manacle the people they brought over, just too lazy to do their work.
