Nothing, and I mean, nothing of consequence will be achieved until the SoCons and religious supremacists are rooted out. That much I figured out long ago, and spelled it out in this article—my writing skills then were not as tight, but I think the points are still valid, actually more so than ever. You don’t have to be an atheist to agree with me that religion doesn’t belong it political circles. And when I wrote that article, I wasn’t even aware of how much bigotry lurked under the skins I was scratching. I was speaking from a strictly strategic perspective.

Unless Conservatism reverts back to classical liberalism—distinguished from paleo-conservatism—it just has no future. Not in this country, not with our demographics, not given the American Zeitgeist. Any Conservative too scared or hateful to embrace that shift will wither away…
