I voted for Ron Paul simply because I think his own personal goal is to stay relevant and not be forgotten in his old age. Thus doing what he did tonight serves his ego well - he gets cheers, lots of people recognize him, and no one will forget him.

Thus, Paul got what he needed tonight.

The only other possible “winner” I can think of tonight is Gingrich, as he showed one again that he can answer questions and orate with skill far above most of the others. He’s selling himself.

I can’t say that Romney “won” simply because treading water, while ok for a putative leader of the pack, isn’t going to get him the momentum he needs to build the number of supporters he would need to make it into the Whitehouse. Plus he still comes off as too fake.
